Louisiana Criminal Background Checks Law

The Louisiana Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information shall provide information regarding all criminal convictions for a period of ten years prior to the request. Title 15, Chapter 6, Section 587.1, as amended by Act 309 (H.B. 1373), L. 2006, effective Aug. 15, 2006. ¶19-23,601.52.

The definition of “employer” was amended to include employees of charitable organizations under the protection of the state law against discrimination. Title XXXI, Chapter 354:A, Section 354-A:2, as amended by Ch. 274 (H.B. 506), L. 2005, effective July 1, 2006. ¶30-20,025.02.

Pennsylvania Organ and Bone Marrow Donation Leave Law

Topic added. Every business offering employees paid leave for the specific purpose of organ or bone marrow donation will qualify for a tax credit. The bill will apply to tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2006, through any tax year within 2010. The law is to codified in Purdon's Pennsylvania Statutes and reads as enacted by Act 2006-65 (H.B. 153), L. 2005, Sections 1 through 5, effective July 2, 2006. ¶39-22,950.01 through ¶39-22,950.05.

Tennessee Criminal Background Checks Law

Employees and volunteers of child care agencies are required to undergo a criminal history check. Title 37, Chapter 5, Section 37-5-511, as amended by Ch. 808 (H.B. 3086), L. 2005, effective July 1, 2006. ¶44-23,600.25.

Tennessee Criminal Background Checks Law

Employees and volunteers of child welfare agencies are required to submit a set of fingerprints and undergo a criminal records check. Title 71, Chapter 3, Section 71-3-507, as amended by Ch. 808 (H.B. 3086), L. 2005, effective July 1, 2006. ¶44-23,600.52.

Utah Discrimination and Affirmative Action in State Employment

Under Utah law, state employment is governed by the Anti-Discrimination Act and provides for affirmative action for state career service employees. Title 67, Chapter 19, Sections 67-19-3, 67-19-6.3, and 67-19-18, as amended by Ch. 139 (H.B. 269), L. 2006, effective July 1, 2006. ¶46-23,400.01, ¶46-23,400.03, and ¶46-23,400.04).

Utah Criminal Background Checks Rules

Criminal background checks may be required for employees who provide rehabilitative services in education programs. R280-204, Sections R280-204-1 through R280-207, as adopted effective April 3, 2006. ¶46-23,650.21 through ¶46-23,650.27.
