Spencer Begins Collecting Data For 2007 Survey Of Benefits Managers

from Spencer’s Benefits Reports: Spencer’s Benefits Reports has launched the 2007 Spencer survey of benefits managers and employee benefits departments. This eleventh biennial survey requests information concerning compensation, organization, and functional responsibilities of corporate employee benefits departments. All employers with employee benefits departments are encouraged to respond to the survey.

The information provided will be collated and published by Spencer’s Benefits Reports, a publication of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business.

All survey respondents will receive a copy of the published survey at no charge.

According to the previous survey, the average salary for benefits managers in 2005 was $83,743, a 7.3% increase from 2003. The survey found that 45% of employers either already had some type of consumer-driven health plan in place, or planned to add one in 2006. The most pressing problem facing benefit managers was increasing costs, with most concerned specifically with health care costs.
