5500 Preparer's Manual for 2012 Plan Years

The IRS is requesting nominations for the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council (IRSAC). Nominations to fill the approximately 12 appointments that will begin in January 2012 must be received on or before June 17, 2011. The council provides a public forum for IRS officials and representatives of the public to discuss relevant tax administration issues. The council suggests operational improvements, weighs in on current and proposed IRS policies, programs and procedures, and advises the IRS on federal tax administration issues.
The 35-member IRSAC is composed of accountants, tax attorneys, enrolled agents, tax return preparers, academics and tax business owners. Each year, approximately one-third of the membership terms expire. Nominations should be sent to National Public Liaison, CL:NPL:P, Room 7559, 1111 Constitution Avenue NW., Washington, DC 20224, Attn: Lorenza Wilds.
