Effective July 24, 2009, the minimum wage in Wisconsin will increase from $6.50 to $7.25. The new rate includes wages paid to minors. However, employers should note that legislation has been introduced in the Wisconsin Legislature that would, if signed into law, increase the minimum wage above the amount in the regulation. Also, the effective date of the increase contained in the bill would be June 1, 2009.
