Florida amends its UI regulations amended on various subjects

The Regulations pertaining to the Florida Unemployment Compensation Law have been amended as follows:

Maintaining an address of record. It is the responsibility of each claimant to maintain a current address of record with the Agency throughout the benefit year. In addition, it is the responsibility of each employer to maintain a current address of record with the Department at all times.

Short-Time Compensation Plan. Employers who wish to participate in the Short-Time Compensation program must make an application on Form UCB/STC-3, Short-Time Compensation Plan Application. Copies may be obtained on the Internet at http://www.floridajobs.org/unemployment/uc_prog_stc.html or by writing to: Agency for Workforce Innovation, P.O. Box 5350, Tallahassee, FL 32314-5350.

Emergency Unemployment Compensation. Individuals wishing to receive extended unemployment compensation benefits must submit an application for benefits to the Agency for Workforce Innovation. An application may be submitted either online or in writing.

To apply online an individual must visit the website: http://www.floridajobs.org/unemployment/uc_emp_claims.html, click on the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) link, and follow the instructions provided in the Online Internet Unemployment Compensation Claim Application or Online Internet Unemployment Compensation Claim Application (Spanish Version).

To submit a written application, the claimant must complete one of the following forms: Form AWI-UC310EUC, Formulario AWI-UC310EUCS (Rev. 07/08) or Form AWI-UCB310EUCC. The completed form must be mailed to the Agency for Workforce Innovation, Unemployment Compensation Records Unit, P.O. Drawer 5350, Tallahassee, Florida 32314-5350 or faxed to (850)921-3938. Copies of the application forms listed above may be obtained by mailing a written request to the Agency; faxing a written request; downloading the form from the Agency website at http://www.floridajobs.org/unemployment/uc_claims_app_forms.html; or by calling the Agency at (850)921-3470.
