Maine amends its UI law regarding partial employment, vacation pay

Maine has amended its Employment Security Law as follows:

Partial unemployment. Earnings for a week received as a result of participation in full-time training under the U.S Trade Act of 1974, as amended by the U.S. Trade and Globalization Adjustment Assistance Act of 2009, up to the amount equal to an individual’s most recent weekly benefit amount are not considered wages for the purpose of determining the weekly benefit amount for partially unemployed individuals.

Remuneration received. An individual will no longer be disqualified from receiving benefits for a week in which he or she receives vacation pay.
