In accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act, the SSA has issued a notice announcing the renewal of an existing computer matching program that it is currently conducting with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
Computer matching program with OPM (Match 1307)
The purpose of this matching program is to set forth the terms, conditions, and safeguards under which the OPM will provide the SSA with civil service benefit and payment data. This disclosure will provide the SSA with information necessary to verify an individual's self-certification of eligibility for the Extra Help with Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Costs program (Extra Help). It also will enable the SSA to identify individuals who may qualify for Extra Help as part of its Medicare outreach efforts. The effective date of the matching program is July 15, 2015.
Interested parties may comment on the notice by either telefaxing to (410) 966-0869 or writing to the Executive Director, Office of Privacy and Disclosure, Office of the General Counsel, SSA, 617 Altmeyer Bldg., 6401 Security Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21235-6401.
