The U.S. Master Payroll Guide is designed to meet the needs of customers who outsource their payroll, handle their payroll internally, subscribe to an electronic payroll library, or who cannot afford a comprehensive payroll resource.
The IRS has released an advance set of federal percentage method, earned income percentage method, and pension withholding tables, which are effective for wages paid on and after January 1, 2010. The value of one withholding allowance on an annual basis remains $3,650. The chart below shows the value of up to 10 allowances for various payroll periods. All of the withholding tables will be reproduced in the CCH Payroll Management Guide in a future release. The IRS has also posted the tables at http://www.irs.ustreas.gov/pub/irs-pdf/. Note that the maximum amount of the earned income tax credit, which may be paid in advance by an employer, will be $1,830.
