Oregon issues withholding calculators for high-income earners

The Oregon withholding tables dated January 1, 2007, will remain in effect for all employees with wages less than $125,000 (see CCH PAYROLL MANAGEMENT GUIDE ¶8048 and ¶8049). Employers with employees who earn annual wages of $125,000 or more must use the new payroll withholding calculators to modify withholding to adjust for the changes resulting from Measure 66 (see CCH PAYROLL MANAGEMENT GUIDE Report Letter 2132, dated February 2, 2010).

For employers with a small number of employees with annual wages of $125,000 or more, an option is to have the employee(s) modify withholding using Form W-4 and the Oregon Personal Allowances Worksheet. Oregon intends to modify the Oregon withholding tables effective January 1, 2011, and will make the 2011 tables available the week of November 29, 2010.
