New Ozone Ambient Air Quality Standards Issued

On March 27, 2008 (73 FR 16436-16514), EPA issued new national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS) for ozone that lower the primary and secondary ozone NAAQS from its current level of 0.08 ppm to 0.075 ppm to provide increased protection for children and other at-risk populations against a variety of ozone-related health effects.

Reactivity-Based VOC Standards Issued for Aerosol Spray Paints

EPA issued final emission standards for aerosol coatings (aerosol spray paints) expressed in terms of grams of ozone generation per gram of coating on March 24, 2008 (73 FR 15604-15631).

Hazardous Waste Combustor MACT Standards Revised

On April 8, 2008 (73 FR 18970-18984), EPA finalized changes to the hazardous waste combustor maximum achievable control technology (MACT) standards that clarify several compliance and monitoring provisions and correct several omissions and typographical errors in the regulations.

Drinking Water Requirements for Aircraft Water Systems Proposed

To accommodate the unique characteristics of aircraft public water systems, EPA proposed new tailored standards for aircraft public water systems on April 9, 2008 (73 FR 19320-19348).
