Many items are grouped by topic and are organized into menus. These menus work just like an electronic Table of Contents.
If you are beginning your research with only a general topic in mind, you can use the electronic Table of Contents to focus your research and to find relevant documents. You begin by choosing a broad subject area and then choosing increasingly focused menus until you have pinpointed the area you want to research.
You can "walk" all the way to a relevant document, or you can stop at a particular topic and search for documents.
Click a tab that contains the item you want to browse in. Note that you can browse in only one item at a time.
Click the underlined title of the item you want to browse in. The item will open and you will see the first menu of topics.
Continue clicking on topics until you find an area of interest. From here, you can either continue to click on topics until you "walk" all the way to a document or you can search for information.
To search for information, select an item to search by clicking the checkbox next to that item. Then type search terms in the search box, select search tools (for search options), and then click the Search button.
Notice that as
you select topics, the topic that you selected will appear at the top
of the tab. You can go back to any level by clicking on one of the previously
chosen titles at the top of the tab.
