Here are some of the more common error messages you may have received along with some tips on how to resolve them:

CCH Internet Research NetWork is unable to fulfill your request.
Solution: This may be due to a temporary network issue. CCH Internet Research NetWork (IRN) may be undergoing routine maintenance and is temporarily unavailable. Clear the browser cache and try to log in again. You should be able to restart your IRN session.
If the subsequent login results in the same error or Error #2, contact CCH. If Error #13 does not occur on login, but when attempting to perform a function, contact CCH to report which function is causing the error.
CCH Internet Research NetWork is unable to fulfill your request.
Solution: This message will occur if your session has timed out due to an extended period of inactivity. You will not be able to perform any function until you log back in to IRN.
If Error #2 appears on a login attempt, the system may be temporarily unavailable. Contact CCH for assistance.
CCH Internet Research Connection Error #5.
Solution: If this message appears when you are trying to log in to IRN, verify that your browser does not have cookies, Active X, and/or JavaScript capability disabled. (Note that these are enabled by default when the browser is initially installed.) Keep in mind that if these options are NOT disabled, your network administrator may be disabling these options at the network level.
If your network administrator is NOT filtering cookies, Active X, and/or JavaScript, or has questions about enabling these for use with IRN, contact CCH.
If error #5 is encountered when using the back button on your browser, the browser may not have enough cache space allocated to it. You may need to reinstall the internet browser. It may also be that the temporary files setting in your browser to check for newer versions of stored pages every time you log in may be causing the error. You will want to adjust these settings accordingly.
CCH Internet Research NetWork Error #12289
CCH Internet Research NetWork cannot find the item you requested from your list.
Solution: This message indicates that the document requested could not be located, either from a search results list or from within a document. It could also mean that you do not subscribe to the item requested or that there is a problem with the document itself.
If you believe that you subscribe to the item (e.g., a link within a document linking to a document in a different publication), contact CCH to report which document is causing the error.
CCH Internet Research NetWork Error #28744
The format of this citation is not recognized.
Solution: If this message occurs when performing a citation search, verify the citation. If this message occurs when using a link from one document to another, contact CCH.
The document you are searching for (citation here) is not available at this time.
Solution: This message is usually due to an invalid citation or citator search. The citation and citation format should be verified. If the citation seems to be correct, it's possible that the document is not available at this time. Contact CCH for assistance in locating the document.
CCH Internet Research NetWork Error #08208
Solution: This message indicates that CCH Internet Research NetWork was unable to load the publication you requested. Contact CCH for assistance.

Solution: This message indicates that you have tried to perform a function that is not applicable on this page. For example, you click the Research History link while you are already viewing your research history. Please select a different function.
The document name or path is not valid.
Solution: This message occurs if you are using the Export to File option to open a document from IRN in Microsoft Word. Instead, try saving the document as a Rich-Text Format (RTF) file to your hard drive, and then open it in Microsoft Word.
It may also be that you do not have access privileges to the file. Check the file permissions for the document and drive.
